6. Though it is supposed to be same 6 speed as 3.0 TDI, the throttle response behavior is much crisp and quick with 4.2 TDI. I don't know if this is just me who feels that way. In my 2004 Jetta TDI for example, the voltage jumps directly to 14.6V about 1-2 seconds after the engine starts (at the battery). It stays there at all times while running. In my 2015 Q7, I tried the same test, and the voltage (as read from my Prodigy P3 brake controller) starts at 12.7, and slowly rises to 14v after 20 seconds or so.
