My 2003 TDCI estate has factory parking sensors fitted but when put in reverse, after the initialisation beep a second tone sounds continuously as if the car is already parked right up against something. I read that if there is a bad sensor you can tell by disconnecting

The parking sensor issue is finally fixed on my car. It turned out to be the next left outer sensor on the front bumper. Two words of warning. The connection fitting is different to the outer left sensor. Why Ford's used different connections is beyond me. Also Ford's no longer color code the sensors to match the car. Only now come in black.
